Become a JIMENA Volunteer

As a grassroots organization JIMENA relies heavily on the support of our volunteers. Members of our Speakers Bureau share their time on a volunteer basis and we always have engaging opportunities for individuals who would like to get involved. We like to utilize our volunteer’s skill sets and encourage you to contact our office if you want to donate some of your time. We always need assistance with Oral History transcription, office work, staffing and organizing events, sitting on steering committees and engaging communities in JIMENA’s programs.

Organize a JIMENA event in your community

JIMENA works with Jewish Community Centers, synagogues, churches, student groups, Jewish historical societies, business clubs and other organizations to share the story of Mizrahi and Sephardic Jews with the wider community. If you would like to organize a JIMENA event such as a film screening, cooking class, presentation, holiday party or community discussion then please be in touch with our office.

Become a JIMENA Student Intern

JIMENA Student interns served as informed JIMENA ambassadors on college campuses nationwide. All interns plan and execute an annual on-campus JIMENA inspired event and design a JIMENA themed project that is relevant to their course of study. Many interns receive college credit for their work and all help identify the strengths, needs and opportunities specific to their particular campus. Stipends are available for select projects.

If you are interested in getting involved, please email info@jimena.org with your idea or contact our office directly at 415-626-5062.
